Description

This recipe is a staple breakfast in Jamaica, but it can also be a snack. So if you make them in the morning for breakfast, do not be afraid to make  a little extra and save some as a snack, expecially if you have children. 

INGREDIENTS
  • • ¾ lbs. salt fish
  • 2 • all-purpose flour
  • 2 • onions (diced)
  • 4 • fresh thyme (remove leaves)
  • 1 • tomato (diced)
  • 1 • bonnet pepper (finely diced remove all seeds or leave some, or all)
  • • ½ tsp salt, black pepper, garlic powder
  • 1 • cup water
  • 1/3 • cup oil
Instructions
  1. Cook saltfish until all the salt is cooked out, you will need to change the water at least 3 times. When finish cool down under cold running water, remove bones (depending on the kind of salt fish you use, there might be bones) Shredd saltfish add to flour, then add remaining ingredients and use a large spoon to mix well and combine, add water and mix well, you should get a pancake like consistency. Fry on both sides until you have a nice golden colour, (about 4 minutes on each side)
