  • 6 pounds rump roast (any roast will do)
  • 1 tablespoon dry thyme
  • 1 tablespoon salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder,
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided 2n1)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (divided 2n1)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 large onion (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 cup beef broth (low sodium)
Instructions
  1. Seasoned meat with 1 tbsp of the dry seasonings, and soy sauce be sure to rub seasonings well into meat. Marinade for at least 2 hours. Heat 2 tbsp olive and brown meat on all sides until you get a nice crust. In slow cooker, add onions and garlic, lay meat on top, add 2 tbsp butter on top of meat and add beef broth, cover, and cook on high for 6 hours. Using the same pan, you browned the meat in, add the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter, add flour, stir constantly until you get a golden brown colour . In the meantime, remove roast from slow cooker, add the cooked onions and garlic from slow cooker to pan with rouge remove liquid from slow cooker and add to rouge, add the remaining 1 tsp of all the dry seasonings and the soy sauce cook for at least 8 minutes, stirring constantly.
