6 Tips to Help Simplify Homecooking

Home cooking does not have to be hard or complicated, I believe a lot more of us would do it . I believe a lot shy away from it because they equate it to be difficult and or time consuming. The truth is that is not the truth. Cooking at home is the same as most things in our lives, it takes preparation, organization and a little time and effort.

  1. Meal Prepping. You would have to live under a rock right now , not to know about the phenom that is meal prep. Spend one hour or two out of your day to prep your families meal for a week. If you are a busy person and do not have the time to cook everyday, then why would you not wanting to meal prep.

2. Meal Planning. Although I put meal planning as number two behind meal prep , make no mistake I believe in order for meal prepping to really work, you have to meal plan. To organize a meal plan before going shopping saves time and money and so when time come to meal prep then smooth sailing it is

3. Make Extra.. One of the things I have always done is I love to cook large batches so that we can have left overs for the next day or next two days. Especially on Sunday’s, I love for my Mondays after work to be relaxing. And let’s face it Sundays we usually cook large amounts anyway, so why not make enough to have for dinner on Monday.

4. If you are having a hard time organizing enough to meal prep a whole week of meals. Then one thing that might work for you. If you start off the week right by cooking a large dinner on Sunday so you do not have to cook on Monday, Monday before work take out whatever meat you want to cook for Monday that is if it includes meat, then on Monday evening you season that meat and cover and refrigerate, also prepare the veggies, chop up onions, peppers, garlic and tomato if necessary.

5. If you have children start teaching them early to cook for themselves. Teach them simple yet healthy meal preparations, come back and I will have some simple dishes/recipes that my children were making for themselves with my help starting at about age 10, by age 12 they were doing it themselves with a little supervision until I felt they got it on there own,

6. Insta pot.. This really is a must, get yourself a good insta pot , this is great, here you will be able to slow cook, and to pressure cook and for a busy person who still wants to feed the family home cooked meals, those are the two best features.
